"Welcome to the Clarksville ISD Cyber Safety Website"

Our goal as a technology enriched school district is to provide parents, teachers, and students with the knowledge they need to protect themselves from the dangers that can be lurking out there in the world wide web. Through the resources located on the left you can find information on cyber crime in the US, cyber bullying, social networking sites, parent guides, and much more. We strive to protect our students from releasing too much information and provide parents the resources they need to know what to look for and how to protect their children.

Teacher resources and lesson plans are also available to provide teachers with tools they can use in their classrooms to teach students how to better protect themselves when communicating with others through the internet. The internet can be an excellent tool for conducting research, blogging, and networking with others. Students need to be equipped with the knowledge of networking etiquette and personal protection. Many of our students (your children) are already networking through My Space and creating web-blogs, but do YOU know what your children are putting on their profiles?

Parents are encouraged to control the time their children are on the internet. Parents should know what sites are being viewed, how the students are logging on to the sites, and what pictures the children are releasing to the world. Please spend some time looking through some of the resources that we have gathered. This information will protect your students and children from accessing or revealing to much information that could be seen from the wrong kinds of people.

Other Media to Consider:

  • Cell Phones

Here are some key questions every parent should be asking about their child's cell phone!

  • What do parents need to know about their child's cell phone?
  • Who is in their contacts?
  • What pictures are saved in the phone?
  • What kinds of text messages are the children receiving and sending?
  • Where are the children getting their music?
